Scotney has 15 years of experience working with government institutions, nonprofits, higher education, and international development organizations. She holds a Master of Social Work from Boston University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Sexual Health from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University. She is also a Certified Sexuality Educator. She joined Iniciativa Guatemala in 2019 as a volunteer advisor for the Comprehensive Sexuality Education program and became a Board Member in 2020. Most recently, she served as Program Manager at Doorways, supporting women who have experienced domestic and sexual violence.


Greg is the founder of Iniciativa Guatemala and has worked with vulnerable communities in Guatemala City since 2011. He has served as Executive Director since 2014, overseeing the organization’s operations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in International Development from the University of Glasgow, with additional expertise in monitoring and evaluation. Before founding Iniciativa Guatemala, Greg worked with International Justice Mission (IJM) in Guatemala and Uganda, as well as with Chemonics International in Washington, D.C.


Pablo has worked with families near the Guatemala City landfill for 12 years and currently serves as Health Director at Safe Passage. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health, with specialized training in suicide prevention and intervention. He has taught psychology at the university level for more than 12 years and maintains a private practice supporting adolescents and young adults. Pablo was also among the first professionals to refer young people to GYI’s youth center for access to contraceptive services.


John is one of Iniciativa Guatemala’s longest-serving Board Members and supported its 2018 transition to focus on sexual and reproductive health and young mothers. He previously served as Treasurer and has a strong background in finance. John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He began his career in investment banking and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Park Madison Partners, working in real estate asset management.


Hannah is the owner of Sweet Lab, a small business creating handcrafted chocolates with locally sourced ingredients. She has supported communities through initiatives such as the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF), helping strengthen women-led small businesses. Hannah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and specialized diplomas in Chocolate Art and French and Swiss Pastry from Le Cordon Bleu in Canada and the Culinary Arts Academy in Switzerland.


Felix has worked with communities near the Guatemala City landfill for eight years and currently serves as Director of Finance and Operations at Creamos. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and postgraduate studies in microfinance and financial inclusion. He previously worked with Fundación Namaste and the Institute of Peruvian Studies, promoting financial education in marginalized communities. Felix also brings private-sector experience, having worked as an SAP Consultant at IBM and Accenture.
